Sparking New Ideas To Create Change-Making Theatre

How do you begin to create and build a piece of theatre with just the sparks and passion of the issues that most activate you?  We’re going to discover together that using nothing but yourself, your body, your desire for change and a room full of partners you can create work that excites you and amplifies your voice and brings issues of social justice and change to a wider audience!

Presented by Vicky Finney Crouch & Jody Drezner Alperin

Vicky co-founded Off The Page, an Arts-In-Education company with Jody Drezner Alperin in 2011.  Together they have brought Off The Page into  public school classrooms all over Manhattan and Brooklyn, teaching curricular topics through the arts with a focus on social justice.  They also work with students to create and devise unique productions that amplify student voices, including All American Boys adapted from the YA novel by Jason Reynolds & Brendan Kiely.   Vicky is a performer, actor, singer and has worked all over the UK and now lives and works in New York.

Off the Page inspires young people - to connect to the past, take action in the present, and change the future.
Using the arts and creative learning, we take history out of the textbook and into the hands of young people.
Off the Page is more than an arts education program - we are a movement, cultivating a generation of social change-makers.
