2013 CONFERENCE GUEST SPEAKER

JOE NORTON

JOE NORTON, (Director of Education & Outreach) ​Joe has been an actor, playwright and producer for various companies in New York City.  He has been a featured speaker and panelist for theatre conferences, theatre educator conferences and volunteer Public Health forums all over the country.  Joe has served on the governing board of the Educational Theatre Association from 2000 – 09 and currently serves on the New York Chapter Board, and  advisory board for the Northeast Thespian Festival (Hall of Fame recipient, 2009) Joe is a frequent guest artist and adjudicator at festivals. He also serves on the advisory board for R’Evolucion Latina (founded by In The Heights cast members) and The Jazz Drama Program (NYC).  Joe is a life-long Thespian, a member of EdTA, NYSTEA, AACT, Theatre Communications Group and the Dramatists Guild.  He is the recipient of the national HIV/AIDS Partnership’s annual Red Ribbon Leadership Award,  and EdTA’s President’s Award and Standing  Ovation Award  BC/EFA.
