Staging Activism with Interviews and Moment Work

Using the monologues from interviews with teen activists, participants will learn the basics of Moment Work and devise theatrical moments.

#HereToo Project co-creator Barbara Pitts McAdams was in the original Tectonic production of The Laramie Project. She is the co-author of MOMENT WORK: Tectonic Theater Project's Process of Devising Theater. She has dedicated much of her career to devising plays with students, often centered around social change themes.

#HereToo amplifies young activists’ voices through performance. Inspired by March for Our Lives, and young activists in the Climate Change and Black Lives Matter movements, we gather stories from youth activists, archive and share these stories with theatre makers who, in turn, make devised performances about these issues as they impact their own communities.

Mission

•To help students become global citizens through creativity and performance

•To provide communities with inspirational original performance which serve as a catalyst for change
