FIRST STEPS TO CREATING YOUR WORK

Creative inspiration can arrive at any time and in any form. And when it does, we often grapple with how we should harness that moment so it can be manifested as piece of art.  We will discuss a set of methods that can help us turn our inspiration into expressive art.

Shubhra Prakash has most recently conceived and co-written an original play, The Music In My Blood, that played to over a thousand audiences on the east coast. She has co-founded the award-winning NYC based Hypokrit Theatre Company.  She served as festival director of South Asian Performing Arts Festivals. Her short, Funny Faces, was one of the Top 10 picks of Asian American Lab’s 72 hour shootout. Three Dates, another short film Shubhra created, was screened at NYIFF '13. Her interactive short film, Cast Me! , was created as part of the Challenge of Diversity contest by Games for Diversity in 2016.
