WRITING AN ORIGINAL PLAY OR MUSICAL WITH A SOCIAL VOICE

Aspiring composers, lyricists and book writers will explore the process of creating an original work that might stage a change.
Topics will include:
  • Finding a story to tell
  • Clearing source material
  • Structuring your story
  • Assembling a creative team ​

​Jim Hoare: Vice President, Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW). Jim taught Theatre, including play writing and composition, for 31 years. He has presented workshops throughout the USA, and in 2011 he received the New York State Theatre Education Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. This is Jim’s 40th year in Educational Theatre. 

Jim Hoare will be joined by playwright, J. Julian Christopher, http://www.jjulianchristopher.com/. Julian almost exclusively writes works with a social voice and will how he uses his art to affect change

Theatrical Rights Worldwide

Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) represents a wide range of musicals. Broadway titles include JERSEY BOYS, THE COLOR PURPLE, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, SPAMALOT, MEMPHIS, BIG FISH, GHOST and ALL SHOOK UP. TRW also has a new division, TriVelup, that develops and promotes new works. ​​
