The Art of Storytelling:
Making a Difference & Evoking Change

Awaken the artist within, and help discover your own voice!  Your individual voice can elicit positive change and social activism.
Through storytelling and improv,  create a project that can transform the world;   finding one’s passion can truly make a difference. Valerie’s two award-winning solo shows will be used as examples of how her art goes beyond just performing—raising funds for charitable organizations. Her plays act as a teaching tool for others, and show how to successfully bring stories to life onstage as well as how to assemble others to create a powerhouse team to fulfill your dream project.

Presented by...

Valerie David is an accomplished actor, producer, and playwright. Her award-winning, The Pink Hulk solo show highlights Valerie’s personal story of overcoming cancer 3x, inspiring others to face adversity with courage—in more than 50 festivals, performed in 25 cities in domestically and internationally. Her award-winning solo show, Baggage From BaghDAD: Becoming My Father’s Daughter, is about her Middle Eastern Jewish family’s true journey of being forced to flee from religious persecution in 1941 Baghdad, reflecting today’s prejudice and discrimination. Her empowering stories help influence social action on important issues of our times with a powerful message of hope.

Valerie and her solo shows have been featured on TV, radio, in publications and on podcasts, including NBC 4 New York, CBS, FOX, amNY, and Heal magazine. She turned her adversity into art and into social action to bring about positive change with The Pink Hulk. Through performances, theater is utilized as a thought-provoking vehicle to empower others. Valerie holds talkbacks after each performance focusing on: how to be your own best advocate and coping mechanisms. She also offers master classes including improv, storytelling, and how community engagement activities can influence and inspire your audiences and social activism.
