THE BECHDEL PROJECT: CHANGING STORIES, CHANGING CULTURE

Experience Bechdel Project’s interactive "life changing" workshop designed to illuminate the need for new narratives and empower participants to fulfill that need.  Even one hour can forever change how you see our world, and your role in it.

Presented by

Jens Rasmussen (Founding Artist): An award winning actor and educator, who has worked with numerous “women’s” companies and women led projects. Jens has created new work and programming in the non-profit sector for over 25 years.

Maria Maloney (Founding Artist)is an actor and singer based in NYC. Her love for comedic storytelling and connecting with audiences in shared experiences has empowered Maria to follow a beckoning intuition to produce her own work; providing the artistic outlet needed to satisfy a very itchy need to create.

The Bechdel Project

Bechdel Project is a non-profit company dedicated to telling stories that pass the Bechdel Test. Because the stories we tell shape our world, Bechdel Project wants to change culture by changing those stories. Currently, Bechdel Project is offering educational residencies to universities and schools; devising a rock musical based on the life of an evolutionary biologist; and hosting a reading series with new playwrights to develop new Bechdel-passing work.
